Fair School Funding: Funding based on need, not dubious formulae.
Student Bonus Scheme: To reward struggling students.
Free Kinder: Adding kinder to the regular education system.
Segregated Learning Streams: So students with behavioural problems are able to receive the individual attention they need without disrupting the rest of the class.

Funding based on need
We oppose the existing funding model for schools that has seen very large grants go to elite private schools while some poorer schools struggle to fund basic services.
What Schools Need
Small class sizes
so that all students get the attention they need.
Widest choice of subjects
so that all students can undertake the subjects that interest them – including VET subjects in schools.
Home-school liaison officers
so parents can be fully informed of how their child is performing in a way they can understand with someone they can relate to.
More teaching aides
so that all students can get the individual attention they need to do their best at school.
Free Kindergarten
Kindergarten should be added to the public education system.
No League Tables
Test results should not be used to punish schools that have a higher percentage of struggling students.
Student Bonus Scheme
We propose a bonus scheme that would give out vouchers to students who have low-income parents. The bonuses would be granted for getting good results and having a cooperative attitude.
Hopefully this would encourage disengaged students and help break the cycle of poverty.
Specialised Learning Streams
We support segregation of school students into three broad categories:
Academic: Students who want to attend tertiary education and are prepared to do the work to get there.
Trade: Students who want to learn a trade and are prepared to do the work required.
Tailored Learning: Any students with behavioural problems would be able to receive the individual attention they need without disrupting the rest of the class. Ideally these students would re-integrate with the other two streams at some point. Students should be free to move between the streams where possible.
Intelligent Design
We oppose the teaching of ‘Intelligent Design’ or other ideas emanating from a particular religion as science in schools. These ideas should be discussed within the faiths that they originate from. Schools should only teach science that has been well tested in the peer reviewed literature.
